Just reading "Trout Bum" by John Gierach, I took an interest in the fly he mentioned in his episode The Fly Box. It seems effective and easy to tie. Usually I do not bother to tie many flies or tie fancy ones as it takes a lot of time and more costly to me in a way. Instead, I'd rather purchase some complex ones from commercial tiers. But for some wet flies like soft hackles and some standard dries and nymphes, as far as it is foolproof, I don't mind going for it to kill long running nights in fall and winter. I guess the fly Gierach stated about in his book appears to be one for those armchair flyfishermen like me. I found a video on how to tie this easy immitation bug.
