CHRIST DIDN’T COME TO JUDGE　　　October 4
キリストは裁くために来られたのではありません。

　　　You judge by human standards; I pass judgment on no one.

Christ doesn’t want to judge. He wants to help. So don’t picture
Christ as a judge for whom you must do this or that to be reconciled.
No, he is the Light of the World. He judges no one.

キリストは裁くことを望まれません。彼は助けたいのです。それだから
キリストを、あなたが許されるためには、これまたはあれをしなければ
ならない裁判官として思い描いてはいけません。裁判官ではなくて、彼
は世の光なのです。彼は誰をも裁きません。

Whoever follows him will no longer walk in darkness. Christ says, “If
you feel your sin and admit it, and if you’re terrified by it, then hold
tightly to me, follow me, and believe in me.

彼に従う者は、もはや暗闇のなかを歩きません。キリストは言われます。
「もしあなたが自分の罪を感じ、それを認め、またもしあなたが罪におの
のいているなら、私にしっかりつかまって、私について来なさい。そし
て私を信じなさい。

Think of me as the Light. Then you won’t have to be afraid of being
brought to court and convicted. I have come to save the world.

私のことを「光」として考えなさい。そうすればあなたは法廷に連れて
いかれ、有罪判決を受けることはないでしょう。私は世を救うために来
たのです。

However, those who reject my help will bring judgment on themselves
because they don’t want to be saved.”

しかしながら、私の助けを拒む者は、その身に裁きを招くでしょう。彼
らは救われることを望まないからです」。

Christ’s words are similar to what a physician would say to a patient: “I
haven’t come to poison you. I want to help you. If you follow my advice,
you won’t need to worry.

キリストの言葉は医師が患者に言うことに似ています。「私はあなたを
毒するために来たのではありません。私はあなたを助けたいのです。も
しあなたが私の勧告に従うなら、あなたは心配しなくて良いのです。

If you refuse my advice and call me a scoundrel, if you hate me and reject
my medicine, then you are willfully sentencing yourself to death. Then
it’s your own fault. Certainly I am not putting you to death. No, I’ll
have to let you to die because you despise and reject my medicine.”

もしあなたが私の勧告を拒み、私を悪党と呼ぶなら、もしあなたが私を
憎み、私の薬を拒むなら、あなたは故意に自分に死刑宣告しているので
す。それだからそれはあなた自身の過失です。もちろん私はあなたを死
なせようとしていません。しかし私はあなたが死ぬのを放っておくしか

We’re in the same situation. Christ will certainly keep his promise to us:
“I pass judgment on no one. So don’t judge yourselves. You aren’t
condemned in my eyes, for I am the Light that illumines the way to
eternal life and salvation.”

私たちは同じ状況にいます。キリストは確かに私たちへの約束を守られ
るでしょう。「私は誰をも裁かない。だからあなた方はあなた方自身を
裁かないようにしなさい。あなた方は、私の目には有罪ではない。なぜ
なら私は、永遠の生命(いのち)と救いへの道を照らす光だからです。
