神の不思議なやりかた

　　　As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body
　　　is performed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand
　　　the work of God, the Maker of all things.

　　　あなたは妊婦の胎内の骨々のことと同様に、風の道がどの
　　　ようなものかを知らない。そのように、あなたは一切を
　　　行われる神のみわざを知らない。

God leads and directs his people in mysterious ways. In the Bible, we
read, “Your path led through the sea, your way through the mighty waters,
though your footprints were not seen” (Psalm 77:19).

神はその民を不思議な方法で導かれ、また指導されます。聖書には「あな
たの道は、海の中。その通り道は大水の中。あなたの足跡を見た者はい
ませんでした」(詩篇77章19節)と書かれています。

Christ himself told Peter, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but
later you will understand” (John 13: 7). Christ seems to be saying, “You
want to see me and want me to do what seems good and right to you.

キリスト御自身がペテロに言われました。「わたしがしていることは、今
は分からなくても、後で分かるようになります」(ヨハネ伝13章7節)。
キリストは、次のように仰っているように見えます。「あなたは、私を見
ると共に、自分に良くて正しいと思えることを、私がすることを望んで
います。

But I will act in a way that will make you think I’m a fool rather than God.
You will see my back, not my face. You won’t understand what I’m
doing or why I’m doing it.

しかし私の行動の仕方は、あなたには私が神であるよりは馬鹿であるよ
うに思えるでしょう。あなたは私の顔ではなく、背中を見るでしょう。
あなたは私が何をしているのか、また何故それをしているのか、分から
ないでしょう。

Then I’ll be able to mold you and remold you the way I would like. My
methods may appear as foolish to you as if they were from the devil
himself.”

さらにまた、私はあなたを形作り、また私が好きなように作り直せます。
私の手法は、それがまるで悪魔自身から出ているかのように、あなたに
は愚かに見えるかも知れません。

We need to learn how God guides his people as they grow and develop.
I too have often tried to dictate to our Lord God a certain way in which
I expect him to run things.

神の民がが成長し発達するに連れて、神はどのように彼らを導かれる
のか私たちは学ぶ必要があります。私もまた、神に物事を取り運ぶ方
法について私が期待することを、神に指示しようと何度も試みました。

I have often said, “O Lord, would you please do it this way and make it
come out that way?” But God did just the opposite, even though I
said to myself, “This is a good suggestion that will bring honor to God
and expand his kingdom.”

私はしばしば申しました。「ああ主よ、どうかこれをこのようにし、そ
れをあのような結果にして下さいませんか」と。しかし私は「これは神
に名誉をもたらし、神の王国を広げる良い提案だ」と、思ったにもかか
わらず、神は正反対のことをされました。

Undoubtedly, God must have laughed at my so-called wisdom and said,
“All right, I know that you are an intelligent, educated person, but I
never needed a Peter, a Luther, or anyone else to teach, inform, rule,
or guide me.

きっと神様は私のいわゆる知恵を笑われて、言われたでしょう。「なる
ほど、君は聡明な、教養のある人であることを私は知っています。しか
し私はペテロにもルターにも、または他の人にも、教えられたり、情報
を伝えてもらったり、指図されたり、導いてもらったりする必要はあり
ません。

I am not a God who will allow himself to be taught or directed by others.
Rather, I am the one who leads, rules, and teaches people.”

私は誰かに教えられたり、指示されたりすることを許すような神では
ありません。反対に、私は人を導き、支配し、教える者です。
