READING THE PSALMS WITH LUTHER

Psalm85 　詩篇第85篇

1.　　LORD, you were favorable to your land;
　　　you restored the fortunes of Jacob.

　　　主よ　あなたはご自分の地に恵みを施し
　　　ヤコブを元どおりにされます。

2.　　You forgave the iniquity of your people;
　　　you covered all their sin.

　　　あなたは　御民の咎を担い
　　　すべての罪を　おおってくださいます。

3.　　You withdrew all your wrath;
　　　you turned from your hot anger.

　　　あなたは　激しい怒りをすべて収め
　　　燃える御怒りから身を引かれます。

4.　　Restore us again, O God of our salvation,
　　　and put away your indignation toward us!

　　　帰って来てください。私たちのところに。
　　　私たちの救いの神。
　　　私たちへの御怒りをやめてください。

5.　　Will you be angry with us forever?
　　　Will you prolong your anger to all generations?

　　　あなたは　とこしえに
　　　私たちに対して怒られるのですか。
　　　代々に至るまで　御怒りを引き延ばされるのですか。

6.　　Will you not revive us again,
　　　that your people may rejoice in you?

　　　あなたは　帰って来て

7.　　Show us your steadfast love, O LORD,
　　　and grant us your salvation.

　　　主よ　私たちにお示しください。あなたの恵みを。

8.　　Let me hear what God the LORD will speak,
　　　for he will speak peace to his people, to his saints;
　　　but let them not turn back to folly.

　　　聞かせてください。主である神の仰(おお)せを。
　　　主は　御民に　主にある敬虔な人たちに　平和を告げられます。
　　　彼らが再び愚かさに戻らないように。

9.　　Surely his salvation is near to those who fear him,
　　　that glory may dwell in our land.

　　　確かに　御救いは主を恐れる者たちに近い。
　　　それは　栄光が私たちの地にとどまるためです。

10. 　Steadfast love and faithfulness meet;
　　　righteousness and peace kiss each other.

　　　恵みとまことは　ともに会い
　　　義と平和は口づけします。

11. 　Faithfulness springs up from the ground,
　　　and righteousness looks down from the sky.

　　　まことは地から生え出て
　　　義は天から見下ろします。

12. 　Yes, the LORD will give what is good,
　　　and our land will yield its increase.

　　　主が　良いものを下さるので、
　　　私たちの大地は産物を産み出します。

13. 　Righteousness will go before him
　　　and make his footsteps a way.

　　　義は　主の御前に先立って行き
　　　主の足跡を道とします。



(解説)
The 85th psalm is a psalm of prayer in which the psalmist pleads
against God’s wrath and seeks His grace.

詩篇第85篇は祈りの詩篇です。その中で詩人は神に怒らないように願い
神の恵みを求めます。

The wrath (in my opinion) consists in this, that they have a lack of
God’s Word and true preaching; also a lack of good government, peace,
and godly authority; and finally a lack of fruitful times and good harvest.

私の考えでは、神の怒りは、次の事から成り立っています。第一に彼ら
には神の御言葉と真の説教がありません。第二に良い政府と平和と神を
敬う権威がありません。そして第三に豊作の時期と豊かな刈り入れがあ
りません。

These afflictions hang together, one with the other.

これらの不幸は重なります。一つは他の一つと。

Therefore, the psalmist prays that God would speak again, so that His
people will not fall into folly, blaspheme in impatience, nor seek
other gods; so that peace, unity, truth, and love might wash over His
people, and that the land be fruitful; so that they can live a proper and
honorable life in a God-pleasing way in peace and quietness, as
St. Paul (1 Timothy 2: 2) also teaches us to pray.

それ故詩人は、神が再び話してくださるようにと祈ります。そうすれば
神の民が愚行に陥らず、忍耐出来ずに冒涜したりせず、また他の神々を
探し求めることはないでしょう。そして平和と統一と真理と愛が神の御
民を洗い、土地は豊饒になるでしょう。そして御民は平和で静かに、神
が喜ばれる仕方で、適切で名誉ある生活を送ることができるでしょう。
使徒パウロもまたテモテ前書2章2節で、私たちに祈るように教えてい
ます。


(PRAYER 祈り)
Remember not, O God, our transgressions against us, and record not
our sins in your book, but cast them into the depth of the sea, and
remember them no more forever.

神様、私たちの罪を私たちに対して記憶しないでください。また私たち
の罪をあなたのノートに記録せず、海の深みへ投げ捨て、それらを今後
思い出さないでください。

Impute to us the obedience of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who fulfilled
all righteousness for us and gave Himself a sacrifice for our sins.
Let us live for His sake, and enable us to walk worthy of our calling.
Amen.

あなたの御子イエス・キリストの従順さを私たちのものとしてください。
御子は私たちのためにすべての義を満たし、私たちの罪のための犠牲と
して、自らをささげてくださいました。御子のために、私たちを生かし
てください。そして私たちの召命に相応しく歩むことができるようにし
てください。　アーメン。
