Psalm121 　詩篇第121篇　


1.　　I lift up my eyes to the hills.
　　　From where does my help come?

　　　私は山に向って目を上げる。
　　　私の助けは　どこから来るのか。

2.　　My help comes from the LORD,
　　　who made heaven and earth.

　　　私の助けは主から来る。
　　　天地を造られたお方から。

3.　　He will not let your foot be moved;
　　　he who keeps you will not slumber.

　　　主は　あなたの足をよろけさせず
　　　あなたを守る方は　まどろむこともない。

4.　　Behold, he who keeps Israel
　　　will neither slumber nor sleep.

　　　見よ　イスラエルを守る方は
　　　まどろむこともなく　眠ることもない。

5.　　The LORD is your keeper;
　　　the LORD is your shade on your right hand.

　　　主はあなたを守る方。
　　　主はあなたの右手をおおう陰。

6.　　The sun shall not strike you by day,
　　　nor the moon by night.

　　　昼も　日があなたを打つことはなく
　　　夜も　月があなたを打つことはない。

7.　　The LORD will keep you from all evil;
　　　he will keep your life.

　　　主は　すべてのわざわいからあなたを守り
　　　あなたのたましいを守られる。

8.　　The LORD will keep your going out and your coming in
　　　from this time forth and forevermore.

　　　主はあなたを　行くにも帰るにも
　　　今よりとこしえまでも守られる。



(解説)
The 121st psalm is a psalm of comfort in which the psalmist comforts
us by his example, so that we may remain strong in faith and wait for
God’s help and protection.

詩篇第121篇は慰めの詩篇です。その中で詩人は自分を例として私たちを
慰めます。私たちが信仰を強く持ち続け、神の助けと保護を忍耐して待つ
ように勧めます。

Although it appears as though He sleeps or slumbers so that we are
struck down by the sun by day and the moon at night, yet it is not so,
though we may think and feel it.

神は眠っておられるか、またはまどろんでおられるので、私たちは昼は日に
夜は月に打ち倒されるように見えるかも知れないが、私たちがそう思い、ま
たそう感じても、事実はそうではありません。

For God watches and keeps us secure and does not let the sun strike
us dead. This we will come to know for certain at last, though we
can now only look forward to it.

神は私たちを見て安全に守ってくださり、日や月が私たちを打ち殺すこと
を許されません。この事を私たちは終にははっきりと知るようになるでしょ
うが、今はそれを待ち望むことができるだけです。


(PRAYER 祈り)
To You, O God, who has hitherto been our Father and our Patron,
do we lift up our eyes, knowing that from You alone can come our
help and our salvation.

これまで私たちの父であり保護者であった神よ、私たちはあなたを見上げま
す。あなただけが私たちの助け、そして救いに来られることを知っているか
らです。

Grant us a living trust in Your mercy and truth that hearts do not fear
when we must pass through the fire of trials or must wade through the
waters of affliction, but always maintain a cheerful trust in Your help,
through Jesus Christ. Amen.

あなたの慈悲と真への生きた信頼を私たちにお与えください。私たちが試
練の火の中を通らなければならないとき、または苦痛の海を歩いて渡らな
ければならないときにも恐れず、イエス・キリストにより、あなたの助け
を喜びつつ信頼し続けることができますように。　アーメン。
