READING THE PSALMS WITH LUTHER

Psalm125 　詩篇第125篇　


1.　　Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion,
　　　which cannot be moved, but abides forever.

　　　主に信頼する人々はシオンの山のようだ。
　　　揺るぐことなく　とこしえにながらえる。

2.　　As the mountains surround Jerusalem,
　　　so the LORD surrounds his people,
　　　from this time forth and forevermore.

　　　エルサレムを山々が取り囲んでいるように
　　　主は御民を　今よりとこしえまでも囲まれる。

3.　　For the scepter of wickedness shall not rest
　　　on the land allotted to the righteous,
　　　lest the righteous stretch out their hands to do wrong.

　　　それは　悪の杖が
　　　正しい人の割り当て地の上にとどまることがなく
　　　正しい人が不正なことに
　　　手を伸ばさないようにするためだ。

4.　　Do good, O LORD, to those who are good,
　　　and to those who are upright in their hearts!

　　　主よ　善良な人々や心の直ぐな人々に
　　　いつくしみを施してください。

5.　　But those who turn aside to their crooked ways
　　　the LORD will lead away with evil-doers!
　　　Peace be upon Israel!

　　　主は　曲がった道にそれる者どもを
　　　不法を行う者どもとともに追い出される。
　　　イスラエルの上に平和があるように。


(解説)
The 125th psalm is a psalm of thanks. It gives thanks that God will
not forever tolerate the power of the ungodly teachers and officials
over those who truly believe, teach, and hope in Him.

詩篇第125篇は感謝の詩篇です。神が不信人な教師や官吏たちが、神を真に
信じ、教え、待ち望む者たちの上に権力を振るうことを、いつまでも許して
おかないことを、詩人は感謝します。

Therefore, the Christian need not be weary and for that reason fall
away from the Word, but He would give all blessings to those who
hope in Him.

それゆえクリスチャンはそのような理由でうんざりしたり、御言葉から脱
落する必要はありません。しかし神は、神を信じて望む人たちにすべての
祝福をお与えになるでしょう。

However, God will cut off and throw out the faithless with their crooked
ways---the master as well as the student.

しかしながら、神は不信人な者を、彼らの曲った道と共に――教師も学生と
共に――切り捨てるでしょう。

We have seen and experienced this also in our own time among the
rebellious spirits.

この事を私たちは現代においても反抗的な人たちの中に見かつ体験します。


(PRAYER 祈り)
O Lord, who did not forsake Your people, who protected Zion with
outstretched arm, and defended Jerusalem with a mighty hand.
Restrain the wicked, convert the sinners, turn the hearts of our enemies.
Cover us with the shadow of Your wings, save Your Church in these perilous
times, and always grant us the enjoyment of Your peace in Jesus, our
Savior. Amen.

オー主よ、あなたは御民をお見捨てにならず、御腕を伸ばしてシオンを
守られ、強い御手でエルサレムをお守りになりました。どうか悪い者たち
を抑え、罪人を回心させ、敵の心を翻させてください。また、あなたの
御翼の陰で私たちをおおってください。あなたの教会をこれらの危険な
時代にお守りください。そして救主イエスにあるあなたの平和を常に楽し
ませてください。　アーメン。
