READING THE PSALMS WITH LUTHER

Psalm128 　詩篇第128篇　


1.　　Blessed is everyone who fears the LORD,
　　　who walks in his ways!

　　　幸いなことよ
　　　主を恐れ　主の道を歩むすべての人は。

2.　　You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands;
　　　you shall be blessed, and it shall be well with you.

　　　あなたがその手で労した実りを食べること
　　　それはあなたの幸い　あなたへの恵み。

3.　　Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house;
　　　your children will be like olive shoots around your table.

　　　あなたの妻は　家の奥でたわわに実るぶどうの木のようだ。
　　　あなたの子どもたちは　食卓を囲むとき
　　　まるでオリーブの若木のようだ。

4.　　Behold, thus shall the man be blessed who fears the LORD.

　　　見よ　主を恐れる人は　確かに　このように祝福をうける。

5.　　The LORD bless you from Zion!
　　　May you see the prosperity of Jerusalem
　　　all the days of your life!

　　　主がシオンからあなたを祝福されるように。
　　　あなたは　いのちの日の限り
　　　エルサレムへのいつくしみを見よ。

6.　　May you see your children’s children!
　　　Peace be upon Israel!

　　　あなたの子らの子たちを見よ。
　　　イスラエルの上に平和があるように。


(解説)
The 128th psalm is a psalm of comfort in which the estate of marriage
is splendidly praised.

詩篇第128篇は、慰めの詩篇です。その中で、結婚している状態は見事に
称賛されています。

Marriage partners are given this great comfort: they should not look only
at the trouble, work, discouragement, and discomfort they feel and
experience in marriage, but rather look at the gracious will of God toward
them, that their station and life are a gracious creation of God and are
blessed by Him.

結婚した者たちには、この大きな慰めの言葉が与えられます。即ち、彼ら
は苦しみ、仕事、落胆、そして彼らが結婚生活で不愉快だと感じたり経験
することだけを見るのではなく、彼らに対する神の恵み深い意志を見るべ
きです。また、彼らの家庭と生活は神による恵みの創造であり、神に祝福
されているのです。

Therefore, marriage is dear to Him, and He gives it much more
happiness and blessing than discomfort, if one only believes and
adapts oneself to marriage and faithfully remains within it.

したがって、結婚は神にとって大切なものであり、神は結婚に不快さ以上
に多くの幸福と祝福を与えます。ですから人はその事を信じ、自分を結婚
に適合させ、その中に忠実に留まれば良いのです。

Thus in the beginning and middle of the psalm it says, “everyone who
fears the Lord….” When the godless go astray, on the other hand, it is
no surprise.

こうしてこの詩篇の最初と中間の部分には「主を恐れ…すべての人は」と書
かれています。その一方で、不信仰な人が道に迷っいても、それは何の驚き
でもありません。


(PRAYER 祈り)
Thanks be to You, our God, for instituting the holy estate of matrimony
and preserving it for so many ages against the assaults of that apostate
spirit which is an enemy of all that is pure and godly.

私たちの神様、あなたに感謝します。聖なる結婚制度を定め、それを心清
く信心深い者すべての敵である背教的霊の攻撃から長い間守ってくださっ
たからです。

Make every house Your temple. Fashion the hearts of husband and
wife to love children, and cause both parents and children to walk in
the faith of Your Son, and be saved. Amen.

すべての家をあなたの宮としてください。夫と妻の心を、子供たちを愛す
るようにしてください。また両親と子どもたちがあなたの御子を信じて歩
み救われますように。　アーメン。
