READING THE PSALMS WITH LUTHER

Psalm106 　詩篇第106篇　Part1

1.　　Praise the LORD! Oh give thanks to the LORD,
　　　for he is good,
　　　for his steadfast love endures forever!

　　　ハレルヤ。主に感謝せよ。
　　　主はまことにいつくしみ深い。
　　　その恵みはとこしえまで。

2.　　Who can utter the mighty deeds of the LORD,
　　　or declare all his praise?

　　　だれが主の大能のみわざを告げ
　　　主の誉れのすべてを語り聞かせることができよう。

3.　　Blessed are they who observe justice,
　　　who do righteousness at all times!

　　　幸いなことよ　さばきを守る人々
　　　いかなるときにも正義を行う人は。

4.　　Remember me, O LORD, when you show
　　　favor to your people,
　　　help me when you save them,

　　　主よ　あなたが御民を受け入れてくださるときに
　　　私を心に留め
　　　あなたの御救いのときに私を顧みてください。

5.　　that I may look upon the prosperity
　　　of your chosen ones, that I may rejoice
　　　in the gladness of your nation,
　　　that I may glory with your inheritance.

　　　そのとき　私はあなたに選ばれた者たちの幸せを見
　　　あなたの国民の喜びを喜びとし
　　　あなたのゆずりの民とともに誇ることができます。

6.　　Both we and our fathers have sinned;
　　　we have committed iniquity;
　　　we have done wickedness.
　　　私たちは　先祖と同じように罪を犯し
　　　不義を行い　悪を行ってきました。

7.　　Our fathers, when they were in Egypt,
　　　did not consider your wondrous works;
　　　they did not remember the abundance of
　　　your steadfast love, but rebelled by the Sea,
　　　at the Red Sea.

　　　私たちの先祖はエジプトで
　　　あなたの奇しいみわざを悟らず
　　　あなたの豊かな恵みを思い出さず
　　　かえって　海のほとり　葦の海で逆らいました。

8.　　Yet he saved them for his name’s sake,
　　　that he might make known his mighty power.

　　　しかし主は　御名のゆえに　彼らを救われました。
　　　ご自分の力を知らせるために。

9.　　He rebuked the Red Sea, and it became dry,
　　　and he led them through the deep
　　　as through a desert.

　　　主が葦の海を叱ると　海は干上がり
　　　主は彼らに深みの底を歩かせられた。
　　　まるで荒野を行くように。

10. 　So he saved them from the hand of the foe
　　　and redeemed them from the power of the enemy.

　　　主は　憎む者の手から彼らを救い
　　　敵の手から彼らを贖われた。

11. 　And the waters covered their adversaries;
　　　not one of them was left.

　　　水は彼らの敵を包み
　　　彼らの一人さえも残らなかった。

12. 　Then they believed his words;
　　　they sang his praise.

　　　すると　彼らはみことばを信じ
　　　主への賛美を歌った。

13. 　But they soon forgot his words;
　　　they did not wait for his counsel.

　　　しかし　彼らはすぐに　みわざを忘れ
　　　主のさとしを待ち望まなかった。

14. 　But they had a wanton craving in the wilderness,
　　　and put God to the test in the desert;

　　　彼らは荒野で激しい欲望にかられ
　　　荒れ地で神を試みた。

15. 　he gave them what they asked,
　　　but sent a wasting disease among them.

　　　そこで　主は彼らにその欲するものを与え
　　　彼らのいのちを衰えさせた。


(解説)
The 106th psalm is a psalm of thanks in which the psalmist acknowledges
all the sins that the people of Israel had committed against God, by which
they had made themselves unworthy for all His grace and blessings.

詩篇第106篇は、感謝の詩篇です。その中で詩人は、イスラエルの民が神に
対して犯したすべての罪を認めています。それにより、イスラエルの民は、
自分たちが神の恵みと祝福を受ける価値がないことを明らかにしました。

Therefore, it says constantly that God has done all these things for His
name’s sake and for the remembrance of His covenant.

それゆえ、この詩篇は、神がこれらの事をされたのは、ご自分の御名のゆえ
であり、またアブラハムとの契約を思い出されたからだと言っています。

Moses also says this (Deuteronomy 9: 6), therefore they cannot glory in
themselves except in His grace alone---as we also have no other glory.

モーセもまた申命記の第9章6節でこの事を言っています。それゆえイスラ
エルの民は自分を誇ることはできません。ただ神の恵みだけを誇れるのです。
私たちもまた、神の恵み以外に誇るものはありません。



(PRAYER 祈り)
Good, O Lord, have been Your thoughts and great Your loving-kindness
toward us.

ああ主よ、あなたの私たちに対する思いはすばらしく、またあなたの慈愛
は偉大なものでした。

Grant us Your Spirit to work in us, hearts that know and acknowledge
Your mercies, and withdraw not Your hand from us.

あなたの御霊を私たちの中に働かせてください。私たちの心があなたの慈
愛を知り、そして認めることができますように。そして御手を私たちから
退き去らないでください。

Do not remember our ingratitude and unworthiness, but remember the
grace You have promised to sinners in Your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.

私たちの忘恩と無価値を思い出さず、あなたの御子イエス・キリストにあっ
て罪人たちに約束された好意を思い出してください。　アーメン。
