READING THE PSALMS WITH LUTHER

Psalm80 　詩篇第80篇

1.　　Give ear, O Shephard of Israel,
　　　you who lead Joseph like a flock!
　　　You who are enthroned upon the cherubim, shine forth.

　　　イスラエルの牧者よ　聞いてください。
　　　ヨセフを羊の群れのように導かれる方よ
　　　光を放ってください。ケルビムの上に座しておられる方よ。

2.　　Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh,
　　　stir up your might and to save us!

　　　エフライムとベニヤミンとマナセの前で
　　　御力を呼び覚まし　私たちを救いに来てください。

3.　　Restore us, O God;
　　　let your face shine, that we may be saved!

　　　神よ　私たちを元に戻し
　　　御顔を照り輝かせてください。
　　　そうすれば　私たちは救われます。

4.　　O LORD God of hosts,
　　　how long will you be angry with your people’s prayers?

　　　万軍の神　主よ
　　　いつまで　あなたの民の祈に怒りを燃やされるのですか。

5.　　You have fed them with the bread of tears
　　　and given them tears to drink in full measure.

　　　あなたは彼らに涙のパンを食べさせ
　　　あふれる涙を飲ませられました。

6.　　You make us an object of contention for our neighbors,
　　　and our enemies laugh among themselves.

　　　あなたは　私たちを隣人らの争いの的とし
　　　私たちの敵は私たちを嘲っています。

7.　　Restore us, O God of hosts;
　　　let your face shine, that we may be saved!

　　　万軍の神よ　私たちを元に戻し
　　　御顔を照り輝かせてください。

8.　　You brought a vine out of Egypt;
　　　you drove out the nations and planted it.

　　　あなたは　エジプトから　ぶどうの木を引き抜き
　　　異邦の民を追い出して　それを植えられました。

9.　　You cleared the ground for it;
　　　it took deep root and filled the land.

　　　その木のためにあなたが地を整えられたので
　　　それは深く根を張り　地の全面に広がりました。

10. 　The mountains were covered with its shade,
　　　the mighty cedars with its branches.

　　　山々もその影におおわれました。
　　　神の杉の木もその大枝に。

11. 　It sent out branches to the sea
　　　and its shoots to the River.

　　　ぶどうの木はその枝を海にまで
　　　若枝をあの川にまで伸ばしました。

12. 　Why then have you broken down its walls,
　　　so that all who pass along the way plucks its fruit?

　　　なぜ　あなたはその石垣を破り
　　　道を行くすべての者がその実を摘み取るままにされるのですか。

13. 　The boar from the forest ravages it,
　　　and all that move in the field feed on it.

　　　林の猪はこれを食い荒らし
　　　野に群がるものも　これを食らっています。

14. 　Turn again, O God of hosts!
　　　Look down from heaven, and see;
　　　have regard for this vine,

　　　万軍の神よ　どうか帰って来てください。
　　　天から目を注ぎ　ご覧になってください。
　　　このぶどうの木を顧みてください。

15. 　the stock that your right hand planted,
　　　and for the son whom you made strong for yourself.

　　　あなたの右の手が植えた苗と
　　　ご自分のために強くされた枝とを。

16. 　They have burned it with fire; they have cut it down;
　　　may they perish at the rebuke of your face!

　　　それは火で焼かれ　切り倒されています。
　　　民は　御顔のとがめによって滅びています。

17. 　But let your hand be on the man of your right hand,
　　　the son of man whom you have made strong for yourself!

　　　あなたの右にいる人の上に　御手が
　　　ご自分のため強くされた人の子の上に御手がありますように。

18. 　Then we shall not turn back from you;
　　　give us life, and we will call upon your name!

　　　私たちはあなたから離れ去りません。
　　　私たちを生かしてください。
　　　私たちはあなたの御名を呼び求めます。

19. 　Restore us, O LORD God of hosts!
　　　let your face shine, that we may be saved!

　　　万軍の神　主よ　私たちを元に戻し
　　　御顔を照り輝かせてください。
　　　そうすれば　私たちは救われます。



(解説)
The 80th psalm is a psalm of prayer against the constant enemies,
the neighboring people, the Philistines, Syrians, Moabites, and
Edomites, who surrounded the people of Israel, pestering and
attacking them.

詩篇第80篇は、不変の敵である近隣住民、即ちペリシテ人、シリア人、
モアブ人、エドム人に対する祈りの詩篇です。彼らはイスラエルを取り
囲んで、苦しめ、そして攻撃しました。

So now also we pray against our enemies and neighbors, the rebellious
spirits, and the spiritual “fathers” and order, as we have prayed in
times past against the heretics of the Church.

同様に現在私たちも私たちの敵や隣人、反抗的な人たち、そして精神的
な「父祖」や秩序に抗して祈ります。それは過去に私たちが教会の異端者

Blessed be Your holy name, O Lord God of heaven, because You
have planted in our land that noble vine, the Christian Church.

Cause it to grow and to spread forth its branches, that it may over-
shadow the land and bring forth prolific fruit for the good of our nation,
and the salvation of many, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

その木は成長し、枝を広げました。そしてその木は国をおおい、私たち
の国にとって良い多くの実を結びました。また私たちの主イエス・キリ
ストにより多くの者が救われました。　アーメン。
