Psalm90 　詩篇第90篇

1.　　Lord, you have been our dwelling place in all generations.

　　　主よ　代々にわたって　あなたは私たちの住まいです。

2.　　Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you
　　　had formed the earth and the world,
　　　from everlasting to everlasting you are God.

　　　山々が生れる前から
　　　地と世界を　あなたが生み出す前から
　　　とこしえからとこしえまであなたは神です。

3.　　You return man to dust
　　　and say, “Return, O children of man!”

　　　あなたは人をちりに帰されます。
　　　「人の子らよ　帰れ」と言われます。

4.　　For a thousand years in your sight are
　　　but as yesterday when it is past,
　　　or as a watch in the night.

　　　まことに　あなたの目には
　　　千年も　昨日のように過ぎ去り
　　　夜回りのひと時ほどです。

5.　　You sweep them away as with a flood;
　　　they are like a dream, like grass that is renewed in the morning:

　　　あなたが押し流すと　人は眠りに落ちます。
　　　朝には　草のように消えています。

6.　　in the morning it flourishes and is renewed;
　　　in the evening it fades and withers.

　　　夕べには　しおれて枯れています。

7.　　For we are brought to an end by your anger;
　　　by your wrath we are dismayed.

　　　私たちはあなたの御怒りによって消え失せ
　　　あなたの憤りにおじ惑います。

8.　　You have set our iniquities before you,
　　　our secret sins in the light of your presence.

　　　あなたは私たちの咎を御前に
　　　私たちの秘め事を　御顔の光の中に置かれます。

9.　　For all our days pass away under your wrath;
　　　we bring our years to an end like a sigh.

　　　私たちのすべての日は
　　　あなたの激しい怒りの中に消え去り

10. 　The years of our life are seventy,
　　　or even by reason of strength eighty;
　　　yet their span is but toil and trouble;
　　　they are soon gone, and we fly away.

　　　そのほとんどは　労苦とわざわいです。
　　　瞬く間に時は過ぎ　私たちは飛び去ります。

11. 　Who considers the power of your anger,
　　　and your wrath according to the fear of you?

　　　だれが御怒りの力を
　　　あなたの激しい怒りの力を知っているでしょう。
　　　ふさわしい恐れを持つほどに。

12. 　So teach us to number our days
　　　that we may get a heart of wisdom.

　　　どうぞ教えてください。自分の日を数えることを。
　　　そうして私たちに　知恵の心を得させてください。

13. 　Return, O LORD! How long?
　　　Have pity on your servants!

　　　帰って来てください。主よ　いつまでなのですか。
　　　あなたのしもべたちを　あわれんでください。

14. 　Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love,
　　　that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

　　　朝ごとに　あなたの恵みで私たちを満ち足らせてください。
　　　私たちのすべての日に　喜び歌い　楽しむことができるように。

15. 　Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us,
　　　and for as many years as we have seen evil.

　　　どうか喜ばせてください。
　　　私たちが　苦しめられた日々と
　　　わざわいにあった年月に応じて。

16. 　Let your work be shown to your servants,
　　　and your glorious power to their children.

　　　みわざを　あなたのしもべらに
　　　ご威光を　彼らの子らの上に現わしてください。

17. 　Let the favor of the LORD our God be upon us,
　　　and establish the work of our hands upon us;
　　　yes, establish the work of our hands!

　　　私たちの神　主の慈愛が　私たちの上にありますように。
　　　私たちのために　私たちの手のわざを
　　　確かなものにしてください。
　　　どうか　私たちの手のわざを

(解説)
The 90th psalm is a psalm of instruction in which Moses teaches
the origin of death, namely sin, which, though known only by God
and hidden from the world, is yet inborn in all from Adam to us.

詩篇第90篇は教えの詩篇です。その中でモーセは死の起源つまり罪につ
いて教えています。罪は神様だけはご存じですが、世には知られていま
せん。しかしアダムから私たちまでのすべての人に生来のものです。

It shows that life here is not only short but also miserable, so that
it may well be called a daily death.

この詩篇は、この地上における生がみじかいだけでなく、みじめなもの
であり、それゆえ、日々の死と呼べることを示しています。

Nevertheless, the psalmist says that such a life is good, so that through
it we would be driven to see God’s grace and His help to deliver us
from it all.

それにもかかわらず、詩人は言っています。その生は良いものであり、
その生によって、私たちは神の恩恵と、生からの全くの救いを見るよう
になるであろうと。

For those who never think of death and feel no misery remain senseless
fools, caring nothing for God’s grace or help.

なぜなら、死を決して考えず、みじめさを感じない人は、無分別のまま
留まり、神の恵みとか救いなどを気にかけないからです。

The psalm ends with the prayer that God would show us His work,
namely His deliverance from sin and death, that He would send
Christ.

この詩篇は、神がその御業、即ち罪と死からの救済を私たちに見せて
くださいという祈りで終わっています。それはつまり神様がキリストを
送ってくださいということです。

And the psalmist asks that, while we live here, God would establish
our work, that is, that both spiritual and worldly authority may be
and remain favorable.

また詩人は、私たちが地上で生きている間に、神が私たちの業を確立して
くださるように頼みます。それは、霊的権威とこの世の権威とが、私たち
に好意的であるようにということです。

The 90th psalm is a short, fine, rich, and full little prayer.

詩篇第90篇は、短くて美しく、豊かで充実した、小さな祈りです。


(PRAYER 祈り)
O Lord, eternal God, teach us so to number our days that we may
apply our hearts to wisdom, embracing Christ and His Gospel as
Your wisdom and Your counsel for our salvation.

主よ、永遠の神よ、私たちに日数を数えることを教えてください。
私たちの心を知恵に傾けてください。キリストとその福音を、私たちの
救いのためのあなたの知恵そして助言として大切にすることができます
ように。

Grant us grace to walk honestly as in the day that, when our last hour
is come, we may be found in true faith and godliness, ready to appear
before the judgment seat of Christ. Amen.

真昼のように真面目に歩ませてください。私たちの最後の時には、真の
信仰と敬虔さの中にあることができますように。キリストの裁きの座の
御前に出る用意ができていますように。　アーメン。
