READING THE PSALMS WITH LUTHER

Psalm98 　詩篇第98篇

1.　　Oh sing to the LORD a new song,
　　　for he has done marvelous things!
　　　His right hand and his holy arm have
　　　worked salvation for him.

　　　新しい歌を主に歌え。
　　　主は　奇しいみわざを行われた。
　　　主の右の御手　聖なる御腕が
　　　主に勝利をもたらしたのだ。

2.　　The LORD has made known his salvation;
　　　he has revealed his righteousness
　　　in the sight of the nations.

　　　主は御救いを知らしめ
　　　ご自分の義を国々の前に現わされた。

3.　　He has remembered his steadfast love
　　　and faithfulness to the house of Israel.
　　　All the ends of the earth have seen
　　　the salvation of our God.

　　　主は　イスラエルの家への
　　　恵みと真実を覚えておられる。
　　　地の果てのすべての者が
　　　私たちの神の救いを見ている。

4.　　Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth;
　　　break forth into joyous song and sing praises!

　　　全地よ　主に喜び叫べ。
　　　大声で叫び　喜び歌い　ほめ歌を歌え。

5.　　Sing praises to the LORD with the lyre,
　　　with the lyre and the sound of melody!

　　　主にほめ歌を歌え。　竪琴に合わせて。
　　　竪琴に合わせ　ほめ歌の調べにのせて。

6.　　With trumpets and the sound of the horn
　　　make a joyful noise before the King, the LORD!

　　　ラッパに合わせ　角笛の調べにのせて
　　　王である主の御前で喜び叫べ。

7.　　Let the sea roar, and all that fills it;
　　　the world and those who dwell in it!

　　　海とそこに満ちているもの
　　　世界とその中に住むものよ　鳴りとどろけ。

8.　　Let the rivers clap their hands; let the hills
　　　sing for joy together

　　　もろもろの川よ　手を打ち鳴らせ。
　　　山々も　こぞって喜び歌え。

9.　　before the LORD,
　　　for he comes to judge the earth.
　　　He will judge the world with righteousness,
　　　and the peoples with equity.

　　　主の御前で
　　　主は　地をさばくために来られる。
　　　主は　義をもって世界をさばき
　　　公正をもって諸国の民をさばかれる。



The 98th psalm, like the preceding psalm, is a prophecy of the kingdom
of Christ, which extends into all the world.

詩篇第98篇は、97篇と同様に、キリストの王国の預言です。その王国は、
世界中に広がります。

It also calls us to be joyful and to praise God for His salvation, that is,
to preach and give thanks for the redemption given us through Christ.

この詩篇は、喜べ、そして神の救済ゆえに神を讃えよと私たちに呼びかけ
ています。それが意味することは、キリストによって私たちに与えられた
贖(あがない)について、伝道し、そして感謝しなさいということです。

Here then is worship---not offerings given in Jerusalem, but preaching
and thanksgiving that He is King in righteousness over the entire
world, that is that He has redeemed us from sin and death by Himself
alone, without our merits.

ここに礼拝があります。それはエルサレムで捧げられる供物ではなく、キリ
ストが全世界を統治する正しい王であることを伝道し、感謝することです。
なぜならキリストは、私たちの功績なしに、自ら私たちを罪と死から贖って
くださったからです。



(PRAYER 祈り)
Honor, praise, and thanksgiving to You, O Christ, our God and Savior,
for all Your wonderful works and the numberless blessings with which
You enrich us.

私たちの神にして救主であるキリスト様、名誉と賞賛と感謝とがあなたにあ
りますように。あなたのすべての素晴らしい御業と、無数の祝福とで、あな
たは私たちを豊かにしてくださいます。

Fill us with Your Spirit and create in us new hearts, that we may rejoice
over Your works and gifts all our days, and at our latter end receive us
into that kingdom of light in which we shall follow You wherever You
go. Amen.

私たちをあなたの御霊で満たし、私たちのうちに新しい心を造ってください。
あなたの御業と恩恵に毎日喜ぶことができますように。そしてこの地上の生
が尽きる時には私たちを光の王国に受け入れてください。そこで私たちが
あなたの行かれるところへ、どこにでもついて行けますように。
