23. 　Then Israel came to Egypt;
　　　Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.

　　　イスラエルもエジプトにやって来て
　　　ヤコブはハムの地に寄留することになった。

24. 　And the LORD made his people very fruitful
　　　and made them stronger than their foes.

　　　主はご自分の民を大いに増やし
　　　彼らの敵よりも強くされた。

25. 　He turned their hearts to hate his people,
　　　to deal craftily with his servants.

　　　主は人々の心を変えて　ご自分の民を憎ませ
　　　ご自分のしもべたちを　悪賢く扱うようにされた。

26. 　He sent Moses, his servant,
　　　and Aaron, whom he had chosen.

　　　主は　そのしもべモーセと
　　　ご自分が選んだアロンを遣わされた。

27. 　They performed his signs among them
　　　and miracles in the land of Ham.

　　　彼らは人々の間で　主の数々のしるしを行い
　　　ハムの地で　もろもろの奇跡を行った。

28. 　He sent darkness, and made the land dark;
　　　they did not rebel against his words.

　　　主は闇を送って　暗くされた。
　　　人々は主のことばに逆らわなかった。

29. 　He turned their waters into blood
　　　and caused their fish to die.

　　　主が彼らの水を血に変えられたので
　　　その魚は死んだ。

30. 　Their land swarmed with frogs,
　　　even in the chambers of their kings.

　　　彼らの地には蛙が群がった。
　　　王族たちの奥の間にまでも。

31. 　He spoke, and there came swarms of flies,
　　　and gnats throughout their country.

　　　主が命じられると　あぶの群れが来て
　　　ぶよが国中いたるところに湧いて出た。

32. 　He gave them hail for rain,
　　　and fiery lightning bolts through their land.

　　　主は雨に代えて雹を彼らに降らせ
　　　燃える火を彼らの地に下された。

33. 　He struck down their vines and fig trees,
　　　and shattered the trees of their country.

　　　主は彼らのぶどうの木と　いちじくの木を打ち
　　　彼らの国の木々を砕かれた。

34. 　He spoke, and the locusts came,
　　　young locusts without number,

　　　主が命じられると　いなごが来た。
　　　若いいなごが　しかも無数に。

35. 　which devoured all the vegetation in their land
　　　and ate up the fruit of their ground.

　　　それが彼らの国の緑を食い尽くし
　　　彼らの大地の実りを食い尽くした。

36. 　He struck down all the firstborn in their land,
　　　the firstfruits of all their strength.

　　　主は彼らの国の長子をことごとく打たれた。
　　　彼らのすべての初穂を。

37. 　Then he brought out Israel with silver and gold,
　　　and there was none among his tribes who stumbled.

　　　主は銀と金とを持たせて　御民を導き出された。
　　　主の諸部族の中で　よろける者は一人もなかった。

38. 　Egypt was glad when they departed,
　　　for dread of them had fallen upon it.

　　　エジプトは彼らが出て行ったとき喜んだ。
　　　エジプトに彼らへの恐れが下ったからだ。

39. 　He spread a cloud for a covering,
　　　and fire to give light by night.

　　　主は　雲を広げて仕切りの幕とし
　　　夜には火を与えて照らされた。

40. 　They asked, and he brought quail,
　　　and gave them bread from heaven in abundance.

　　　民が願い求めると　主はうずらをもたらし
　　　また　天からのパンで彼らを満ち足らせた。

41. 　He opened the rock, and water gushed out;
　　　it flowed through the desert like a river.

　　　主が岩を開かれると　水がほとばしり
　　　川となって砂漠を流れた。

42. 　For he remembered his holy promise,
　　　and Abraham, his servant.

　　　これらのことは　主がそのしもべアブラハムへの
　　　聖なることばを　覚えておられたからである。

43. 　So he brought his people out with joy,
　　　his chosen ones with singing.

　　　主は御民を喜びのうちに導き出された。
　　　その選ばれた民を　喜びの叫びのうちに。

44. 　And he gave them the lands of the nations,
　　　and they took possession of the fruit of the peoples’ toil,

　　　主は彼らに国々の地を与えられた。
　　　国々の民の労苦の実を　彼らが受け継ぐために。

45. 　that they might keep his statues
　　　and observe his laws. Praise the LORD!

　　　これは　彼らが主のおきてを守り
　　　そのみおしえを保つためである。
　　　ハレルヤ。



(PRAYER 祈り)
Let us worship the Lord, our God, and give thanks unto His holy name,
because He has awakened unto us the Prophet like unto Moses, by
whom we are delivered out of the kingdom of darkness, and are made
heirs of everlasting light. Praise the Lord. Amen.

私たちの神、主を拝しましょう。そして彼の神聖な名に感謝しましょう。神は
モーセに似た預言者を私たちのために目覚めさせてくださいました。その預言
者により、私たちは闇の王国から救われていて、永遠の光を受け継ぐ者とされ
ました。ハレルヤ、アーメン。
