READING THE PSALMS WITH LUTHER

Psalm112 　詩篇第112篇

1.　　Praise the LORD! Blessed is the man
　　　who fears the LORD,
　　　who greatly delights in his commandments!

　　　ハレルヤ。
　　　幸いなことよ
　　　主を恐れ　その仰せを大いに喜ぶ人は。

2.　　His offspring will be mighty in the land;
　　　the generation of the upright will be blessed.

　　　その子孫は地の上で勇士となり
　　　直ぐな人たちの世代は祝福される。

3.　　Wealth and riches are in his house,
　　　and his righteousness endures forever.

　　　繁栄と富はその家にあり
　　　彼の義は永遠に堅く立つ。

4.　　Light dawns in the darkness for the upright;
　　　he is gracious, merciful, and righteous.

　　　直ぐな人たちのために　光は闇の中に輝き昇る。
　　　主は情け深く　あわれみ深く　正しくあられる。

5.　　It is well with the man who deals generously and lends;
　　　who conducts his affairs with justice.

　　　幸せなことよ。
　　　情け深く　人に貸し
　　　自分に関わることを公正に扱う人は。

6.　　For the righteous will never be moved;
　　　he will be remembered forever.

　　　その人はとこしえまでも揺るがされない。
　　　正しい人はとこしえに覚えられる。

7.　　He is not afraid of bad news;
　　　his heart is firm, trusting in the LORD.

　　　その人は悪い知らせを恐れず
　　　主に信頼して　心は揺るがない。

8.　　His heart is steady; he will not be afraid,
　　　until he looks in triumph on his adversaries.

　　　その心は堅固で　恐れることなく
　　　自分の敵を平然と見るまでになる。

9.　　He has distributed freely; he has given to the poor;
　　　his righteousness endures forever;
　　　his horn is exalted in honor.

　　　彼は貧しい人々におしみなく分け与えた。
　　　彼の義は永遠に堅く立ち
　　　彼の角は栄光のうちに高く上げられる。

10. 　The wicked man sees it and is angry;
　　　he gnashes his teeth and melts away;
　　　the desire of the wicked will perish!

　　　悪しき者はそれを見て苛立ち
　　　歯ぎしりして消え去る。
　　　悪しき者の願いは滅び失せる。



(解説)
The 112th psalm is a psalm of comfort in which the pious, who fear
God, are praised for their good life and are promised eternal comfort
against all trouble.

詩篇第112篇は、慰めの詩篇です。その中で敬虔な人たち、即ち神を恐れ
る人たちは、その良い生活を称賛されています。また全ての困難に対して
永遠の安楽が約束されています。

They are especially commended to a sincere confidence and trust
in God’s grace, so that they may be undismayed and undaunted
(which is the real, true faith) until they see the destruction of the
godless and their foes.

彼らは特に、誠実に信頼し、神の恵みを信じることを勧められています。
そのような信頼があれば、彼らは臆することなく、恐れることもない(それ
が本当の真の信仰です)でしょう。そして終には不信仰な者や彼らの敵の
絶滅を見るでしょう。


(PRAYER 祈り)
O Lord, the Reward of them that fear You, and the Defense of Your
people, who in Your Son, Jesus Christ, has promised grace and
everlasting righteousness to them that believe, establish our hearts
by Your grace that, rooted in the faith of Your Word, we may be able
to stand in the day of trial.

オー主よ、あなたを恐れる人たちへの報いであり、そしてあなたの民、即
ちあなたの御子イエス・キリストを信じる人たちの守りである主よ、あな
たは信じる者に永遠の義をお与えになると約束されました。主よ、あなた
の御恵みにより、私たちの心を堅く打ち立て、あなたの御言葉を信じる信
仰に根ざして、審判の日に立つことができるようにお導きください。(この個所、訳にかなり無理しています。…旅人)

Strengthen us to resist the enticing lust of sin, and to triumph over
Satan, death, and hell through Jesus Christ. Amen.

私たちが罪の肉欲の誘惑に抵抗し、主イエス・キリストにより、サタン、
死、そして地獄に勝利することができるように、御力をお与えください。
アーメン。
